Note

i have returned to being a self-coached athlete. now that triathlons are basically over for 2012, i needed the flexibility to do more AR stuff. it was a sad phone call parting ways with FPC, but i am toying with the idea of a repeat visit to CdA in 2013 and if that happens i will be calling her immediately.

fun event at Tilles with multiple parts, all done in succession and on the clock.

1 - run from start to group map
2 - memory-o to first control, pick up individual map
3 - 7 controls to map exchange
4 - 7 more controls to map exchange
5 - memory-o final 3 controls to finish

found myself in the lead for most of the day, and finished first. but mis-punched on the first map so should be a DQ. left ITB still acting up.

warm up for dirt crits. rode the loops twice at social speed (second time gabbing with LS). it was super hot so not much was needed, just a trail preview.
7 PM

B race! mucked up the start like usual (i am just terrible at these things) and then spent the rest of the race passing people. negative split each lap, just kept gathering steam. almost made it to the women's podium but ran out of real estate. legs felt amazing, like i hadn't even raced on sunday.

i love mountain biking. and drinking carbonated hop-flavored water.

travel back to STL. stomach still unhappy but i could eat a wider variety of foods.

sick for the rest of sunday night and today, probably a combo of excessive advil intake and poor post-race nutrition.
