A bit of a hack job. On in places but had a hard time tuning in. The small depressions are just not (and this is not even vaguely a complaint, I love this terrain and Igor set a very nice course). Tentative on 2-4, better 5-6, 7 was a mess. I didn't think the mapped reentrants were very obvious from the hillside with 6 and so I went to the very obvious saddle reentrant halfway to 8 setting up a goose chase. 9 fine, 10 decently saved after drifting to cairn-land. 11 was a big problem as I let myself drift too far S and got engulfed by the honeysuckle. Found 14 to be quite confusing, approached from the W side of the nasty looking marsh and lost track of the terrain. Chose the N road/field route to 15; Aragorn was right that back to the start then N was the best plan but mine wasn't aweful. Getting tired so slower to 16 then overshot 17. This was a very tricky control that should have had me just lock onto my compass and plod to avoid a potentially big mistake (one day, I will learn this)
The biggest lesson: don't do a long run the day before OR get much fitter. One of these is operationally easier.

A really solid training course on some prime real estate (thanks IG) and I was very out of juice. I did ok for a leg and then had a few more that were ok in the middle.
I was not being particularly confident. I often spent extra time looking for streamers, some were there and some were not (2,4,6,9,10), and it should not have mattered. I anticipate us trying this course again backwards in a 3-4 weeks.

Don't know why the HR was this high. I didn't feel like it was nor should have been. Except for the last mile, just enjoying the weather and trying not to expend too much energy before tomorrow.
