Note

I understand the reasoning for turning of city park drinking water fountains at certain times of the year ...but mid-July?!? If not have them on now, then when? I'm guessing city drinking fountains are a source of "gravy" in our city so best shut them off to help pay for the removal of the pesky Jarvis bike lanes at a cost three times what it cost to put them in <1yr ago ...despite seeing a 300% increase in cyclist along Jarvis. I am ashamed of our mayor and his cronie's child like irrational behavior, or is that power-trip? Sorry, rant over...

TOTNT - Riverdale Rally Route
Haven't attempted the RRR since Jan 20th apparently; decided to give it a go tonight despite the heat and lack of much speed work. No PB, as to be expected, but pleased enough with my run.

No-one looked at me sideways, so for today Toronto's Animalia Chordata Aves community remains safe ...but it is still early in the day.

Nice to have my ride over by 9:30am, cleaned-up, on the couch, Stage 9 on the PVR, Latte in hand, plus a giant bowl of Yogurt, banana and muesli ...life is good today.

For living downtown in the GTA with a population of 5.5m, I have to admit I'm pretty lucky with quick access to the Don Valley and also the Bayview Extension/Rosedale Valley loop. Treated it as a bit of an interval workout with tempo heading north from Rosedale Valley Rd, up the Bayview hill to Nesbitt, then recovery through Rosedale back to the bottom.

10x3.3k ...was feeling the last effort up the Bayview hill.

Despite a tempting invite from Harps/Bent'/Bash to take things off-road and hit the Shed up in their neck of the woods, didn't really want to leave the city in a car, as getting back in later today will be nuts with the Indy and a major construction delay impacting the 401 this weekend in both directions.

Running long 2:02:09 intensity: (20 @1) + (19:15 @2) + (1:24:39 @3) + (16:23 @4) + (1:32 @5) 19.62 km (6:14 / km) +459m 5:34 / km

SMT w Turbo, Shane, Dwayne and Trix. Felt good today and with shoeless-Turbo the polkadots were anyone's to grab. Plus a good battle with Dwayne for the sprinters jersey.

Today's Garmin issues: both user error... 1) had it in "biking" mode, not sure how/if this impacts the data collected at all ie same HR zones? and 2) didn't start the watch before the run and so spent the first 5min searching for satellites through the canopy; oops.
