Training Log Archive: Jerritt

Another really bad day on a really good map. Difficulty with the first long leg, but able to re-attack and thought I would be okay. Middle legs were decent with one exception that I had to re-attack multiple times.

Then, planning ahead I completely skipped a control. this led to losing complete contact with the map for about 1/2 an hour. finally reoriented, but I never realized i skipped a control until it showed up on the splits sheet at the download table.

Complete bummer of a weekend from an orienteering standpoint. Otherwise it was a blast traveling and being on outstanding terrain.

A couple bad controls early, nailed two of the three long legs, and then fell completely apart going to 13. I got so disoriented that I skipped 13 altogether, punched 14 twice and had no clue.

Awesome terrain. Awful result.

Middle distance event at Hep Cat in WI. Rainy, slippery day. A couple of mistakes early as I tried to get in the map, but then a decent course. Not fast, but decent navigation.

Very good night-o event set by Todd P. Completely had no clue whre I was for up to 20 minutes in the middle of the course. Finally, figured it out with some help from Pete W. and had a decent finish.

Control retrieval.
