Got up early 4:50am to go turn on the controls for the National Ranking Event. Passed Amy on 95 who was heading to the start to set things up. I was carrying too much stuff to fully run so did a lot of 1/2 jog. Lost my hat in the woods. It was in the way so I tucked it into the backpack strap and it must have fallen out. Fortunately I had already taken off the GPS unit. It was not very bright out when I started but got lighter and warmer.
I wasn't fast but did get all my controls done.

Didn't start my watch so wasn't sure how far I actually went. I am estimating 4 miles. I was updating some of the Happy land are.
The bad news is I lost my mapping GPS unit. I spent about 40 minutes looking for but couldn't find it.
This was a green area. Green is the hardest to map. Vegetation has changed a lot. Pine forest is getting blown over creating rootstocks/down fall. Areas where pine forest fell awhile ago are now open woods. Some mountain laurel areas grown up so easier to run through. Another 10 years should be nice woods.

Left early to get out to the far controls. About a mile out to my first control then back in picking up as I went. Tired from being on my feet all day.

Getting a rhythm of the treadmill. Start off slow then add speed. This prevents me from getting the dried lungs issue as I acclimate. I also fixed the treadmill so 2 incline is a 2 percent incline instead of more. Figured out the treadmill was sinking into the padded floor which made the incline harder.
