Orienteering race 3:36:27 [3] 14.4 km (15:02 / km)

US Ultra Long Champs at Rattlesnake Hill - Red-X / M45+.

40 minute error on C11, after a fairly solid C10, destroyed the day.

Running 29:00 intensity: (15:00 @2) + (6:00 @3) + (8:00 @4)
slept:4.75

Running around during our meet at Mendon East. The boys managed to knock off Thomas and Irondequoit, both wins the first time since before 2003 (that's as far back as the records go, and before that Thomas wasn't a complete high school). The girls got one win, and are certainly headed in the right direction.

5 min jogging with the noobs to see the course before the race (I got there late). And the usual active Mendon East spectating (start line to woods gap to turn off road, into the field to the south, then the long stretch to the two mile mark, with a short break where they come up the hill before reentering the field. Then up to the road and over to the hill, followed by backwards on the course to the last runners.

Running 47:27 [2] 5.27 mi (9:00 / mi)

Easy run at Mendon after the races. Had to avoid any embargoed areas - I think the web guy for the ROC A-Meet should have outlined the embargoed areas. I went south of the XC course to the road up toward the kennel, until I found a trail to take back north, and made sure I stayed well south of any possible Sprint terrain.

Golfing 9:00 [1]
slept:3.25 (rest day)

Worst 9 of the year, I think - 45. That's what I get for playing two days in a row.

Sadly, my marathon training took a big hit, as I posted a second consecutive goose egg. Our start time was moved up to 4:45, so my time at XC practice was limited (3:35 to 4:20) and I did not get a chance to run.

Let's call it a taper for the Ultra Long!
