Running warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

Orienteering 21:47 [5] 3.95 km (5:31 / km) +175m 4:31 / km

1st in the m48- YES BOYS! (LOC)
angus got us off first and came back in average position 5th-7th. Bartlett then beasted the orange to get us in joint 3rd with matt galloway and matt elkington minute and half down on syo ( michael). me and matt dropped matt E on the first hills 1-3 then I had a different gaffle where I pushed ahead of both of them, caught michael up at 11 and then cruised up the hills when he seemed to be tiring, and had a good clear 30 second lead coming into the finish when I ran in with the boys and had time to celebrate, such a good feeling,so so happy! especially after yesterdays mess up. nearly had a perfect run - 25s when i skirted past a control where I think it should of been marked as distinct tree... but who cares, 2nd on course beat by ciaran allen by 10s but thats because I jogged the run in.

Note

Over view:
So two alright race with good results, one bad race and one great race.
Obviously very dissapointed with day 3, but I can learn from it. Selection for JHI's looks good at the moment and still got the British champs to go as for EYOC I have no idea after my screw up, I don't want to get my hopes up just to let my self down, but time will tell...

1 bronze and 1 gold and two cheeky buffs.

Next JK i might be thinking about not going with school, because these 4 days I got hardly any sleep , sleeping on a church hall on a matt, only got like 6-7 hours a night. could of been a factor to poor result on sunday.

Flexibility 30:00 [0]

stretching over the 4 day, back sore after sleeping on the floor. hamstrings good. Physically felt in the best shape I have been ever over theses few days, I'lll keep that through to the British.

Orienteering 48:22 [3] 6.35 km (7:37 / km) +220m 6:30 / km

day 3 craig a barns 11th

Sooooo bad, one and two I was going just nicely came to 3 in what I thought was the right place but wasn't don't know why I didn't take a bearing and bam I lost 4 minutes, probably up there with bad mistakes of the year. then tried to get back into it but was never going to, made minute and a half on 7, after that my confidence just dropped and technique was bad, so fustrating after performing well the last two days and putting a lot of effort into training and then to mess up on a big race/selection race.lost about two minutes on routechoice aswell got stuck up some crags and then fallen down trees on long leg. don't know why m technique just didn't have a plan to leg 3 and after that just .....ahh so annoying ah well, we will learn from our mistakes. finishing 6th overall 2 minutes off 3rd. could have jogged around and been clean and still been podium.

JOE WOODLEY ...how did you get 2 37 to control 13 you MADMAN!....."went straight"

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)

Jk sprint-livingston (3rd).

Decent start to race, lost 20 seconds 4-5. 30 seconds 16-17. very twisty and turny, hesitating quite a bit. had to come back on myself a few times loosing time, caught angus up and got a bit distracted and lost my flow then. good result...definate improvements in sprint discipline, still need to get better though.

Orienteering 8:59 [3] 1.23 km (7:18 / km) +30m 6:31 / km

1st control practise, good bit hesistant on one control because I saw angus lost or confused.

Orienteering 12:36 [3] **** 1.57 km (8:02 / km) +47m 6:59 / km

Donughts- 50m circle of map missing around the control circle. Excellent orienteering, slightly hesitant on one leg. In the thick green

Orienteering 13:35 [3] 2.01 km (6:45 / km) +43m 6:06 / km

one gay as 30-45 second mistake roughly, ran past the control and was stood right next to it and couldn't see it, came back 30 seconds later. two Norwegians saw me do this. embarrassing..... otherwise good.

Orienteering 16:18 [3] 2.5 km (6:31 / km) +70m 5:43 / km

Traffic lighting-orienteering good.

Orienteering 20:00 [1]

collecting controls in.

Note

Simpson ground. Good area, quite thick forest so not fast going, training with the Fredrikstad juniors and our lot. Their coach/dad Per came 4th a WOC! quite funny he got lost yesterday though, he said it was his biggest mistake for years.
