feeling really really run down , bad fatigue and a bad cold , im guessing the sore throat i had last week must have gotten significantly worse through lack of sleep/lots of km's , also legs are pretty sore due to the lack of training i have been doing , pleased with how my heel is feeling on the plus side though , should hopefully be able to run at jircs

Taping control sites for the Adams avery relays at stock hill , felt really run down and I'll , but I had to get out and do it as Alan is checking the sites tommorow :/ after a weekend in perfect maps , I was really awakens by just how shit the stock hill map is , half te features are just completly wrong , and there are unmarked paths bigger than mapped forest trackes :/ had to give up looking on a few controls :/
Was going very slow and stopping for About a min a time every 2 mins.

jukola 2012 leg 4 - keith came back in a good position of just over 300th place , i had spent a lot of time watching the blank map tracking and hearing that loads of the good guys were really messing up this leg , especially control 1 ,

spent a lot of time in the run out looking at the course , in particular the first control , made a plan to go left round the hills , ticking off features along the way , i hit the re-enterant - knoll , and crag i was expecting , at this point i was just 100m from the control , i went slightly off angle when going through the low - visibility stuff , and came out on the wrong hill 30m to the right of my attackpoint and 50m from the control , i didnt realise the mistake and attacked a symmetrical re-enterant , once i realised i had gone wrong i ran to the top of the hill to relocate , i relocated off the wrong feature as this bit of the map was all the same , got even more lost , and took me ages to work out where on earth i was , in the end i ran all the way out to the OOB boundary to reloacte , i then reattacked from the crag i had passed earlier , took it very slow very careful , made the same stupid mistake and got on the wrong hill again , eventually after relocating twice more ,i hit a wet pit , it was the only pit in the area and just 50m from my control , i used it to relocate correctly and i finally hit the control , i lost half an hour on this control and dropped around 160 places ,

loads of the top guys messed up no.1 aswell , including GG , and a load of other gps tracked runners . i dont know why i lost so much time , i think it was just really hard to hit the right bit of rock coming out of the low vis.

after that i kept it suprisinly clean , dropped a tad of time on 4 , but apart from that i was happy with it after 1 , lost pretty much all energy 2/3rd and just slogged back in. moved up 51 places from #1 - finish , but overall i dropped over 100 places :L really let the team down . but still we managed to scrape best british team , beating syo , and most importantly dun-cans ok ravienen 3 team by 1 place .

watched venla in the early afternoon , it was properly hot like high 20's low 30's , once it had cooled down , me and ben went for a jog around the model course , my navigation was scrappy

flew out to Finland early in the morning , got to jukola and went training in the afternoon , it was my first ever proper abroad orienteering , ive only ever really done interland before which isnt technical , went out with keith and jogged round a few controls , then he shadowed me round a few , my navigation was pretty bad , made a fair miss on #2 by losing contact with the map , flowed round a bit on the far side of the map , then made a few more mistakes , it was a really nice training session in the mid 20's , and there was a local lake to swim in afterwards :-) i can see why orienteering is popular here.

Havent really been training , heel still a bit sore , the cycle te other day flared it up a lot , just trying to let myself recover for the summer , hopefully should be able to get through jukola :-) although I am pretty unfit at the moment :L
