Orienteering race 58:25 [5] 4.9 km (11:55 / km)

Long Distance at Pachecho State Park. The type of navigation was the same as the day before, except for one key difference- I had an early start and so much less trails in the grass. Actually, this was nice because it forced me to actually navigate for myself, not just do what others had done. Other than a few bobbles, pretty clean race. Also, loveddd the walk to the start- so pretty.

Orienteering race 27:21 [5] 3.2 km (8:33 / km)

Middle Distance at Pachecho State Park. Soooo different from what I'm used to- all open meadows on hills. Pretty fun to orienteer on, actually, because I was forced to use some different features than I'm used to to navigate. I had a late start time and quickly learned that the trails through the grass were the way to go... you just had to pick the right one.
The only trouble I had was going along the hillside to #7. Before that I was spiking pretty much every control, so wasn't too concerned I didn't have a clear attackpoint for 7. I probably should have been, because I ended up running along the hillside, not knowing if I had passed it or not. I only relocated after I saw a reentrant on a hill across from me.

Orienteering race 18:58 [5] 2.6 km (7:18 / km)

Phew! A little behind on logging Attackpoint entries... vacation will do that to you, I guess.
Anyway, sprint at Casa de Fruta- definitely not great, from the start I felt tired and like I wasn't moving very fast; then I made a stupid mistake on #4-ending up on the wrong side of fence, argh!!- and then the one after that, which was very cleverly hidden among the dinner tables they were preparing for that night.
Positive things about the race were that I felt pretty good about my ability to read the map while I was running along; also, used clue sheet holder well. Even though the race didn't go to well it was still a cool place to run around, on a beautiful day.

Running 38:48 [3]

Ankle felt very good during run... hurt after though, more than yesterday so I'm not quite sure where that leaves it. Optimistic for this weekend though, hope it won't be too much of an issue

Running 28:00 [2]

Slow run with Active Ankle on... ankle was definitely twinging at the beginning of the run, but I slowed down, tried to kept to flat surfaces and it felt ok by the end which was encouraging.
