Batsto - Brown course 12 controls.

Neat and different terrain, lots of trails and low blueberry bushes. Didn't think I came across any briars but my legs tell a different story. I did okay, not as fast as I could have, but purposefully going slow - to make sure I was on the right trail, to pace count, and to pay attention to features as well as staying on bearing. Mistakes at #5 - somewhat featureless area and read contours wrong, #10 - more clearings than marked on map, and #12 - final control. Final control was the biggest goof by far, as there were streamers in sight leading to the finish. Hello, anyone in there?? Well I learned that lesson!

Forgot to start and stop GPS at correct times, so these numbers are based on 'as the crow flies' listed on the map and my splits results.

Sayonaro 2012. Goals for 2013 to come.

Leiper Smedley trails mostly paved. Walked a few uphills but this is better than my other time for a 6 mile route by almost 3 minutes! Yeah baby! :)
