Note

After a fantastic week + of orienteering and travel, I returned home after 15 hours of driving yesterday form Aniprior Canada. Great to hear I won a medal in the sprints too!
Great to see O friends, campout and return home in one piece.

Orienteering Meet race 20:52 [5] *** 3.4 km (6:08 / km)
ahr:160 max:172 spiked:17/18c

North American Sprint. Great temps to run and a runners course. Nothing too tricky., I did lose some time in the wooded portion going to no. 10 a reentrant. Did not quite see it soon enough.
Overall 4th on course 3 and a medal winner, not sure what place 2nd or 3rd.
Fantastic weekend to weekend of orienteering from Rochester to Canada, thanks to all who help put it on!!

North Americans Long course. After yesterday's disaster I wanted to be very careful. But it turned out to be my kind of course...lots of trails. No mistakes, some longer routes to avoid the woods :-).... That seems to work with a top 10 finish. Only really lost time going to #9 as I drifted to the west too much before hitting power line.

Middle distance north American champs.
Wow this one goes in the books as bad. Actually I lost 14 minutes on # 7 as I was completely messed up and took a long time to relocate. But I was bobbling lots before that.
Finished strong after #9 as there were short legs more like a middle.

Model map for NAOC. Thick and slow. Looks easy to make mistakes if you go to fast.

Salmon fish hatchery map. Walked most of the brown course from the 08 North American champs there. Nice woods, a bit wet and slippery though. Some depressions looked pretty weak. Somewhat hilly and challenging though.
