Orienteering Meet race 1:01:27 [3] *** 5.0 km (12:17 / km)
ahr:158 max:173 spiked:9/11c shoes: Icebug black 2

US Night O Champs.... Well the weather was perfect, the snow slippery, the courses good. I just decided to skip a control #4. My excuse is the purple lines from three went to 4 and the line from 5 went through 3. So in my brain dead state I went to 5 skipping 4.
Overall fun till I was stuck in some weeds I could not get out.
Good results from CAOC

Lesson learned keep track of which control I am at and where I am going. Simple

Running warm up/down 34:19 [4] 6.78 km (5:04 / km)
ahr:153 max:163

The alarm clock I set was Jamaica get me back or what. I was going to leave it here, but decided to use it since my phone did not have Internet.
The thing lost time and when I woke up and was getting ready to leave I looked at my other watches and the the race started 9 minutes ago. Quick chug up water, no warmup, I run about a mile run to the 3 mile turnaround.
I jump into race at the turnaround. It almost looked like this is where I should be in the race anyway. I was feeling really good, I got to the chip start for the race at 6:09 54 minutes after the start. I went over the start line and ran.

Running tempo 52:58 [4] 9.78 km (5:25 / km)
ahr:149 max:167

The race..... Very strange to start against the grain. So almost looked like I was winning the 1/2 marathon. Haha. 2 loops of the course for the half marathon. Even then turned my singlet inside out till I was with the grain. This would of could of been my course record here.

Fresh cocoanut water and no shuttles for a while so I walked back, cheered on some other racers in the 1/2 and full marathon. Stopped at a hotel to see what happened my friend who was going to his first 10k race and the worlds greatest pasta did not agree with him. .
Overall good workout, still got my finishers medal bling!

Hiking 1:00:00 [1] 6.78 km (8:51 / km)

Walk back after the race! the same way I ran....no shuttles going yet on the course, what do you want, Its Jamaica.
Great cave to swim into under the place I am staying...so
Ya mon ....its no problem.
