What a day, so I Steve Is grooming when I get there and he has this look in his face, so I say whats wrong? He lost his cell phone, so I am skiing around looking for it and asking people. He says there is a spot where he had gotten off and did some work. We looked no sign. So I say lets get my cell phone and call it. While we go toward the parking lot there is a sheriff by his car and he says, are you Steve Wikner, we have been looking for you. He says nobody know from Parkside knows what you are doing. We needed to talk to the Campus police. Wik mentions that our grooming days might be over per his conservation with the county sheriff.
As he pulled out of the lot into the main parking lot that was not plowed he became stuck. I say to him you should of stayed in bed this morning as the way your day is going. Some really good looking girl sees that he is stuck and offers to help. Nice, so we pushed him out and took off with my cell out to where he thinks the phone might be. I call and sure enough he hears it ring. So off to digging around he found it under a foot of snow. Next we head off to campus police to talk to them. before we can finish, the girl running the place ask if we are the groomers. She says no problem and knows what we are doing etc. Wow so I tell Wik that he ought to buy some lottery tickets as this day has turned around especially after I bought him lunch and a beer.
Oh and Parkside was in pretty great shape, just a bit bumpy in spots. My two days of grooming and Wik yesterday trimming the branches leaning on the trail and his final groom today set up very nice for possibly another week of good skiing there. HELLO MARCH!
