Orienteering Meet race 47:18 [5] *** 4.2 km (11:16 / km) +120m 9:51 / km
spiked:17/19c

Middle distance today at Big Bone Lick in Kentucky. I guess this would have to be my best run of the year so far, and probably for the year ( not ) as I ended up in first on the green course for everyone. My kind of running, no rocks and lots of ups and downs into ditches/streams. A trail run at first control to warm up and look at the map with a pretty easy control (no 1)coming up from a trail and fairly easy, good attackpoints for the most part all over ther map. Always seems easy when you do well. Great weekend of friends, club members and competitors from all over. GT and I were so close after 3 meets that it was a 49 second difference overall. He took 2 days of the three, but lost the pig title on their score system of 1000 points for first and points % back.

Sprint at Idlewild park....good venue for a sprint open and used a lot of a frisbee golk course. I had third best time on green in this event. Fun and no boo boo's.

Orienteering Meet race 44:46 [5] *** 3.8 km (11:47 / km) +130m 10:04 / km
spiked:17/21c

Middle at Idlewild, fast at first and then I started making big mistakes. 10 was a pit in green mistake no 1. Little depression no 12 and I drifted off the trail with no clear point I left the trail and I found a ditch that was 50 meters off my control mistake 2. No 14 I went up the wrong ditch with put being careful resting my map mistake no. 3. 4 minutes behind Glen who had a clean run for the most part. Down 2 zero to him, ouch!

Middle Creek, Kentucky...Middle distance event and the CAOC Van trip. Up early to pick up everyone and drive. The drive was quick really and we were there by 1:00pm. My course could of gone better, it was hilly and I was slow in the woods. The course was good, it was pretty warm out. A few mistakes here and there but not too bad. 2nd in m-55 I think. GT took day one. So the battle continues tomorrow.
