Orienteering Meet race 56:39 [5] *** 6.0 km (9:27 / km) +100m 8:43 / km
spiked:29/29c

One hour score O at the same park, but now more woods. Mass start with one minute to look at the map. I decided to head out to the hight point controls right away and saw that there was an obivous loop to take from there. I was by my self and at one control I got my balls wacked OUCH!! that has not happened in a long long time. Than in this same area a stick in my shins and a fight through some nasty prickley stuff. After that short 5 minutes of pain, the rest of the map and course was prettty good. I was moving good and than had visons of a sweep. I saw Greg W ( the winner ) on my last loop in the woods and he than finished while I still had a few minutes of low pointers around the finish. I ended up 2nd overall. Nice event and the food after was a nice touch. On to my friends house/farm 20 minutes away that I have not seen in 25 years. Awesome time there visiting.

Niagara Falls State Park aka Goat Island. small island with lots of tourists near controls in a few spots. Almost a road run as we did not go into the woods at all. At the end I went to no.14 before 13 oops!!! Guess what the way it was on the map, a number of others did the exact same thing. Fun event, and great views of the Falls as I warmed up and looked over, after, and during the race.

Orienteering Meet race 14:53 [5] *** 2.2 km (6:46 / km) +37m 6:14 / km
spiked:13/14c

Niagra falls sprints.. Real cool park and warmup area had great scenery. Top of the falls. One course and not in the woods at all. I made a fatal mistake by going down the only hill to 14 before 13....ouch!!!!! I was not the only one to make this mistake. On to Rochester...

Orienteering Meet race 1:07:34 [5] *** 6.2 km (10:54 / km) +290m 8:50 / km
spiked:19/19c

Golden Leaf O-Cross...Well its also known as a Farsta or Motola. Mass start and it just started to rain a bit at the start. Because of this I seen to pace harder than yesterday. 1st control is always crazy but I let the crowd go and focused on my control. Well a lot of folks had it and it was a hill. I saw a lot of my comp take off and be waqy ahead of me. 2-3 I was a bit messed up bu all the trail junctions and just used my compass to get me straight and it worked. After that it was staright forward and lots of trails to use. 4 controls were used on the first map that I had on the 2nd map. The 3rd map used the sprint map to get back to the finish. When I got in I was handed a new pair of socks (prize) and looked arounf for all my comp who beat me. Where is Chris S, Jeff Sager and that fast Canadian guys who beat me yesterday??? Surprise...they came in after me. Yea finally a victory. Expresso and I were off to the US for the Goat Island event in Niagara Falls NY.We got a hotel that was supposed to have a whirlpool. When I informed Expresso that it was cold and hotel would give us back 10% he went to work and they upgraded us to a Suite with a Jaccuzi. We than went to the casino a block away and gorged on some great food. Later a short hike to view the falls.
Awesome time with friends at the O in Ontario this Thanksgiving weekend!!!

spiked:7/10c

GLOF 2010 Canterbury Hills Sprint. Nice event and nice map. 3 seconds behind 1st place Jeff Sager (Coach). In the middle afternoon event I went 4 seconds faster in the finish chute.....oops should of done that for the sprint and would of been first and won a pair of mittens. and place non canadian gets nothing I wonder why? Good warmup for the middle and maybe one less beer or 2 might of helped for the 3 seconds diff.
3 PM

Orienteering Meet race 32:53 [5] *** 3.1 km (10:36 / km) +160m 8:26 / km
spiked:10/12c

Middle Distance event today and in some hilly areas i was not super sharp. I finished strong as the hills had mellowed out a bit. 2nd place again as Jeff ( Coach) is on fire. Me, I am just average. Good map and great day. Awesome terraine and its just great to be out in the O universe.
