Ok now arace situation, first control was a gimmie, after that the course was good. Except for the 2nd control, which I drifted to high, it was fun and fast. One more race and than a GOAT. Lungs feel better, legs a bit tired. Nice folks out here and lots fo good beer.

Orienteering Meet long 1:35:00 [4] *** 11.4 km (8:20 / km) +250m 7:31 / km

KILLER B LOOP. Up a bit late and started about 11:00am. this is the famous killer b loop that is for training and awesome. Best footing yet some easy long hauls through the grass and less sage. Only bobble where I went up the wrong reentrant. Physical and fast. Oh Jan did it in 79, I wonder if he had controls or flagging. I could not see the flagging very well in spots.

Orienteering Meet race 1:57:00 [5] 8.4 km (13:56 / km) +470m 10:53 / km

Oh boy, did this sucker have climb. New map from an area that probab ly would not be legal climb in a regular meet. This makes 3.5 hours of O today. The course was fun, not fast and finished a great training week.

Morning training at Happy jack map/ Tie city. It was awesome out there, irst day for serious thumb compass. It worked good at low speeds, great to be able to read map and teraine. Still a bit tired from lots of beer the last 2 nights. but yellow pine camping with out the crowds is awesome.

Orienteering Meet 1:02:30 [3] *** 6.0 km (10:25 / km) +200m 8:56 / km

One cowboy relay. Motalia with 4 legs. About 20 or so people lined up for the start. Lots of good orienteers. As i finished the 2 nd leg I threw down my map and looked at my next map and it was the same course. oops, back i went to pick up the map I should be on, well i ran the last leg 3rd. It shouold of ben 4th. Oh well when I finished with the big dogs, I still ahd a 1.3 course to do.
Nice weather and friends, makes me wish all the cool orienteers I know were here. I call it Mikael Platts High Altitude Training Camp.

Orienteering Meet 1:24:00 [3] *** 6.4 km (13:07 / km) +300m 10:38 / km

Oh is it nice here!!!! But its 8000 feet high, so the mouth gets dry quick and you feel the beers and the dehydration right away. Nice course, lots of climb. This is orienteering paradice!!! Courses to do in the morning, informal races in afternoon, and a weekend full of events. Great camping, cell service at the campground, showers in town.
