Orienteering race (State League 10a) 15:32 [4] 3.44 km (4:31 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nexus 7

Ham Common - Hard 2 (M50)
Pretty straightforward course. Hared out the start after deciding to go right - wrong decision! Didn't see the gap in the hedge on the way to 11 so made a last minute decision to go around the building, should have stuck with my original plan. Second in the class.
3 PM

Orienteering race (State League 10b) 15:58 [4] 2.77 km (5:46 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nexus 7

UWS Penrith Campus - Hard 2 (M50)
A much different proposition to the morning's event. Made the same mistakes as most people on 3 and 13 plus an added error on 11 where I headed off to 12 first. Fourth on the afternoon, second over the two events.

The Tank Paddock - Hard Medium
For once a Newcastle OY event didn't clash with a Metroleague so made the trip. Lost time by overshoting 4 and 7, hesitation at 10 as I thought the control was on a termite mound until I checked the control descriptions. Biggest time loss (1.30) was at 11 where I went to 12, the last control, before realising I'd made a 90 degree error. Was leading at 9, in the end Simon beat me by 1.57.
