Orienteering race (State League 5) 1:25:46 [4] 8.33 km (10:18 / km)

Baal Bone Junction - Hard 5 (M50)
Had a feeling on the way to the start that I had forgotten something but it wasn't until I had hiked up the 110m climb I realised it was my compass - I was buggered if I was going to go down for it so decided I could do without it given the terrain. Completely overshot 1 (change of scale) then corrected too much before getting it. Lost some time on 9 where stuck to the N of the rocks rather than coming over the top and 14 where I was pulled into the rocks to the south. Over 15 mins down on the winner (StK66) who must have had a storming run.

Falnash - Hard 5 (M50)
Given I was organiser wasn't sure if I would get a run but as things were running smoothly took my chance with Paula kindly giving me a lift to the start which doubled as the clothing return. Undershot 1 as I wasn't used to the scale (1:15000). Had trouble to 2 losing contact with the map (not sure about the map despite it being remapped) but managed to relocate off the track. Looking at the splits a lot of us had a similar time so wasn't so bad. Went to the wrong termite mound at 8 (which was where the control was before it was corrected). No problem after that. Things ran smoothly from my perspective but disappointed about the misplaced control and the fact a control on Hard 1/2 was taken in too early, both out of my control.

Down to Sydney Park and two clockwise laps. Still not feeling particularly lively, don't think I doing enough quality running. As much as I am benefiting from Pilates it often leaves me feeling too washed out to run on Wednesdays.
