No shadowing required over the weekend as Ewan took over the job. Both Ewan & Nea seemed to enjoy themselves with none of the usual bickering.

Orienteering race 1:21:13 [4] 8.81 km (9:13 / km)

Gumble Pinnacles - M50 (Hard 5)
A challenging course in tough terrain where you had to stay in touch with the map all the time. Steady through first 4 but lost it a bit at 5 and had to relocate off the big boulder to SW. Not sure how but ended up at 8 before 7. After battling my way to 12 decided I needed some easier terrain so headed W down to the fence (hard work) and ran north along this before following a line of flat rocks to 13 - still lost 5 mins to Mike B. Like a lot of people had trouble with the last control.

Glad to have finished both days on technical granite maps, don't think I've managed this before,

Kahli's Rock - Hard 5 (M50)
Second time every at here and far more sucessful than 12 years ago. Great course starting off in the more open earlier terrain before hitting the infamous rocks. Lost contact with the map at 12 but managed to reloacte and then steady to the finish. Finished 3rd (I think) behing Rob V and Mike B.

Running 39:38 [3] 8.55 km (4:38 / km)

Work down to Sydney Park, two anticlockwise laps taking the paps in first then back to work. Felt hot with a very dry wind blowing, the BOM's website says it was 27C with 6% hunmidity so not surprising - a taste of things to come?
