Orienteering race 59:09 [4] 9.26 km (6:23 / km)

Metroleague Div B at Mount Annan.

Fail as O-ing would say. Didn't get to grips with the scale or the contours and completely overshot 3, managing to run off the map. Not surprising I couldn't get the track network to match, lost a good 14 mins on this leg alone! A couple of other misses on 6 and 9 from not being in touch with the map. Not really with it today, either mentally or physically.

Orienteering race (Shadowing) 8:02 [1] 0.77 km (10:26 / km)

Must be the shortest Very Easy course ever, basically running back from the start to the finish. Ewan did it in 4:53, not exactly value for money.

Cycling (MTB) (MTB) 1:09:50 [2] 13.26 km (11.4 kph)

Family cycle from where we parked the car, round the round to the cafe for some sustenance them along to the new MTB course where we did a circuit of the "competent" course . Great fun with some flowing single track with very few rocks. Outstanding efforts from both Ewan & Nea. Will definitely be back again before it gets too hot.

First half as always. Good game but unfortunately Ewan's team went down 2-1. NOt sure when they last won but they're played some good teams. Off to the wilds of Cowan next week.

Running 40:04 [3] 7.74 km (5:11 / km)

More exploring, this time eastwards. Through the badlands of Redfern (very much like an East London estate with tower blocks etc) to Moore Park golf course, down Anzac Parade to ES Marks athletic track where a school carnival was going on and then followed my nose back to work. Knew I was going the right way when I crossed the southern ends of Elizabeth, Pitt & George Streets, very different to what they're like a couple of kms further north. A bit stop start in places trying to cross roads, reminded me how pedestrian unfriendly the crossing are in Sydney.

Running 36:05 [3] 6.9 km (5:14 / km)

From work to Sydney Uni to where I used the 17 year old map to check out whether it's worth remapping to a sprint standard. It definitely is, so all I need to do is find the right person to contact to get permission to hold an event there. Fingers crossed BF will put on one of the sprint series events there next summer. Bit of a contrived route back to work with an extra loop around the building to make the time & distance more respectable.
