orienteering race 35:24 [3] *** 6.0 km (5:54 / km) +100m 5:27 / km
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#4 - blue)

Middle Distance state league #n, Rocky Falls.

Debut for the magnifier - playing around with it at the start, it came loose and I couldn't tighten it up in the start lane. Ended up stoppin en route to #1 to put it in my bum pocket.

Fairly straightforward rocky spur gully, but had a few problems where map seemed a bit distorted (I've produced a few maps like that myself over the journey, so I should handle it better). Leg was OK, maybe 90%.

Note
(injured)

Bruising starting to come out at top of my quad - quite yellow.

The magnifier arrived yesterday, so I'm sure my improved navigation will offset any loss of speed caused by having to hop round.

cycling 52:00 [3] 15.8 km (3:17 / km) +110m 3:11 / km

Procession of riders both ways. Forced myself not to race home.

ultimate 1:20:00 [3] 10.0 km (8:00 / km)
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#3)

Two games of 80 minutes. Throwing a bit more confidently. Needed to win last point of first game to the ( having tailed all game). Didn't. Second game we were never in, I handled a lot. Got one very satisfying hand block.

Picked up a grade 1 quad tear/strain near end of first game. Hopefully can rest it away by the weekend.

ML at Simmos Beach, new area

First starter and lost time on first leg as I went BANG into the unmarked out of bounds which had a single bit of tape. Couldn't figure out what was going on apart from that my planned safe track route wasn't going to work. Bashed to discernable track and relocated.

Then clean 2,3,4 but Toby caught me at 4. Hung on through to just before 8, mainly through his micro rc mistakes. Coming into 8 ahead of him, I missed the intended track through green and took next, realised, but didn't double back. Then was too high amongst the rock for #10.

Disappointed to make two dumb mistakes, but speed was OK.
