Note

Achilles sore again this morning. Not sure why exactly. It could have been the very soft boggy ground yesterday. Or maybe the 6 hours of driving. Or possibly even something silly I did in a pub in Sheffield later on.
Played golf at Beauchief, but wore my trainers rather than golf shoes after the bad experience of the recent golf weekend. Ice and prayers that it settles quickly.

Orienteering 50:00 [3] 5.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Got to the New Forest to discover the November Classic was cancelled. Luckily I'd brought my old map of the area: the 1980 British Champs. Therefore I ran my M15A course: 7.3km on a 1:15,000 map. History doesn't relate how long I took in 1980, but I suspect something very similar to the 50 mins today. I do remember being 3rd, a little while behind Dickie Jones. Very interesting to see how the vegetation had changed over 32 years; very little in the natural wood/heathland and enormously in the plantations. Had great fun, although it was a little wet underfoot. I wasn't the only one braving the 'dangerous' conditions by a long way...

Terrain running 20:00 [3] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Jog to the start and back from finish. It took a little while to locate myself on the old map.
