Orienteering race 17:32 [4] 1.5 mi (11:41 / mi)
(injured)

JK Day 2. Dunalistair. M45L.
My right calf started to feel sore between nos 3 and 4 (as I came out into the open) but I was able to continue without too much discomfort. As soon as I started the downhill leg 5 to 6 the pain suddenly increased and I knew my race (and JK) was over. Hobbled on to no 6 and sat down. Long walk back to the finish. Thanks to Christine for the loan of a cag. Gutted.
The injury feels very similar to what happened on Day 4 of the Scottish 6 Days last year. Amazingly I was able to compete in France 2 weeks later, so there is hope I could be back soon (and hopefully in time for the British).

Event: JK 2012

Note
(injured) (rest day)

I've decided not to run the JK sprint after the bad reaction to the British Sprints. Three days racing might be pushing it for my foot, but at least the other days should all be on nice soft terrain.

Terrain running 30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
(injured)

Foot has been feeling a bit sore this week but felt I needed to do something so took the opportunity to go out in the snow. Lap of Digley in wet snow varying in depth between 1" and 6". Foot a bit sore but not too bad in the deeper stuff.
Was due to see Kim for a calf/foot massage but too dodgy to travel to Sheffield given the snow. Hopefully I can see her tomorrow instead.
