Orienteering race 1:32:41 [4] 11.9 km (7:47 / km) +335m 6:50 / km

Mad Hatter long - a solid feeling race, though not without a few minutes of error I should have been able to avoid. Probably would have finished a bit stronger if I hadn't had a go at twisting my right ankle in the second butterfly loop.

Orienteering race 40:45 [4] 5.8 km (7:02 / km) +190m 6:02 / km

Mad Hatter middle - tentative on first 4, particularly to 2 when I noticed my compass needly was sticking as I left 1 (fortunately, it came unstuck as I approached 2 and mostly stayed that way throughout the race), caught up by Mike Smith shortly thereafter but got ahead when he made one of his significant errors at 6, caught up again and again got away when he made his other significant error on, I believe, 13. Nothing brilliant but avoiding potential disasters when there were so many of them lying in wait is acceptable.

To and from work, normal paced parts, plus some shopping at the Adams Morgan Safeway.

Two times up my cycling intervals hill in 2:08 and 2:15. Fuller recovery might be in order if I ever get in the habit of doing more than one of these.
