QOC Meadowood Blue - showers held off so quite a pleasant run through very open woods.

Picked up 7 controls.

Round trip to aquatic center.

Started off with running.

Then felt like a change so switched to flutterkicking.

Hammered up my hill from Beach Dr up to Carter Barron on the way home. Faster than past atttempts, IIRC, but also more lighlty laden so I won't read anything into it.

Cycling to work, in the absence of the predicted possible sleet accumulation. Home by way of the aquatic center on still clear roads.

Listened to a Pimsleur Vietnamese lesson (which I think I'll have to repeat at least once to decide what consonant sounds are really being produced in some cases), an As It Happens and a Quirks and Quarks.

To work. Home by way of PCRM/Rodmans and Safeway.

In to work after morning meeting downtown. Home by way of the aquatic center.

More CBC and Prokofiev.

Listened to ~1.5 As It Happens podcasts and an indeterminate fraction of a Definitely Not The Opera.

Borrego - i.e. Goat event, almost entirely in the gentler though occasionally quite complex desert rather than the canyons. In the to me unexpected absence of the weekend's Europeans and even of US elites other than Eric, who was taking it relatively easy, victory was theoretically and actually fairly easily mine but I didn't know that at the time since I wasn't aware that the Alex (last name?) following close behind me for most of the course had skipped a control fairly early in order to avoid losing contact with me. The sprint finish and/or deceptive tactics I might have tried in the box before the last two controls since attempts to simply outrun him weren't working therefore weren't necessary since he had to go get the control before the box that I skipped.
