Cycling from Franconia-Springfield Metro to Turkey Run Ridge, slightly discounted to allow for time waiting for traffic lights to change.

QOC South Fork Blue - sloppy in relatively small ways on too many controls and thumped by Lacho in consequence - too bad he won't be around in future to administer similar object lessons. Will have to execute much better at Anza-Borrego if I want to do respectably.

An estimate of the time I spent picking up controls.
Course setting at Lake Fairfax, to whatever extent necessary. Go to Rosaryville also or otherwise as the case may be.
Hiking3:00:00 [1]
Course setting and field checking at Lake Fairfax, which took longer than I'd hoped, and then a quick visit to another nearby park since getting to Rosaryville in time to do anything before darkness fell was clearly impossible.
Run in to work through Rock Creek Park and mere overcast/mist. Met a couple of other runners, a rare occurrence in the park that early on a weekday morning.
Actually timed myself this morning cycling in so, inevitably, went harder than usual. Looks as though logging the standard commute in as 30 minutes is still a slight underestimate.
Running1:24:00 [2] 8.0 mi (10:30 / mi)
Very easy trail run home through Rock Creek Park and rain so light it didn't seem to have created any mud that wasn't there on Monday and Tuesday.
Something Like Happiness at the Avalon at 8pm - can't pass up a chance to test my listening comprehension on a film that won 8 Czech Lions.
Cycling1:20:00 [3]
Cycling to work. Home Zorro style by way of the aquatic center then the Avalon Theater.
Deep Water Running45:00 [4]
Had planned on running home by way of the Czech film but my feet felt Monday evening and Tuesday morning so did this instead. Unfortunate that it looks like it will rain tomorrow evening, when the running home is now supposed to happen.
Cycling to work. In inauspicious start to a renewed emphasis on high volume, low intensity training, didn't manage to get out of bed and go to the pool before work. At least I can't avoid running home this evening so easily.
Running2:00:00 [2] 12.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
Trail run home through Rock Creek Park. Saw one beaver a little bit north of the range covered by my previous sightings and a couple of deer near Fort DeRussey.
