Note

Rosaryville or stay home due to forecast of possible snow possibly changing to possible rain?

Cycling 1:25:00 [2]

Branch Avenue Metro to Rosaryville round trip.

Hiking 2:15:00 [1]

GPS surveying in Rosaryville. Got up, delved into forecasts from three sources, and eventually decided not to be a wimp about the possibility of a few showers before the rain started in earnest around four o'clock. Fortunately, Accuweather was spot on in its hour-by-hour forecasts. Suprisingly and presumably coincidentally, the GPS claimed it was getting better accuracy almost all the time after the rain started than I'd been getting most of the day up to then. Covered the extreme south of the park, including a substantial area of beautifully open but very steep woods - people will be thankful and cursing at the same time. Saw some clear cut cases in which the LIDAR contours understate the distinctness of reentrants - will probably deal with these in similar fashion to South Fork.

Strength 15:00 [2]

One-legged squats with backpack while watching the deserts episode of Planet Earth.

Note

Frozen Slopes Cross Country 6K? Then go out to Rosaryville. Perhaps better just to stick to Rosaryville - finishing the map is much more important than whether I run or don't run a local cross-country race.

Cycling 2:15:00 [2]

Branch Avenue Metro to Rosaryville in the morning and Rosaryville to home at the end of the afternoon.

Hiking 2:30:00 [1]

More GPS surveying in Rosaryville, half of it logged as usual, well short of the time in the park I'd planned on since I utterly failed to get out of bed at the planned time. Will have to manage my sleep better some coming weekends to make that easier.

Core exercises 10:00 [4]

Abdominal exercises before going to bed.

Form exercises 28:12 [4]

Silly walks, 4x100m strides and 10 or 11x10 second uphill sprints on a one minute cycle.

Strength 15:00 [2]

One-legged squats with backpack.

Cycling 1:11:00 [3]

Cycling to work by way of the aquatic center. Home by way of TPSS and City Bikes in Adams Morgan.

Swimming 30:00 [3]

With new goggles, back to starting pool workout with a bit of traditional swimming. 15 minutes of various strokes then flutterkicking.

Deep Water Running 1:00:00 [2]

SD if not quite LSD, though combined with the cycling and swimming, quite long enough to rate the L.

Core exercises 10:00 [4]

Abdominal exercises I didn't do the previous evening.

Cycling 1:10:00 [3]

Cycling to work. Home by way of the aquatic center and Fleet Feet.

Swimming 8:00 [1]

Wanted to get to Fleet Feet before closing time so minimal warmup and cooldown. This is also rests between repetitions.

Deep Water Running 16:00 [5]

Decided, partly in the interests of speed, to try 4x4min intervals in the pool again.

Strength 15:00 [2]

One-legged squats with backpack. Didn't increase weight but focused on doing them slowly again. Maybe I'll hold off on more weight until that begins to feel easy.

Cycling 1:02:00 [3]

Back on the horse to get to work. Home by way of the aquatic center.

Recently usual DWR workout format.

Monday Nov 26, 2007 #

Core exercises 12:00 [4]

Abdominal exercises while watching the most hyper-kinetic part of The Matrix on TV.

Strength 15:00 [2]

One-legged squats with backpack. Trying to do these slowly now. Maybe time to add some weight again.
