Running home by way of PCRM work party. Only about 1 inch, maybe a bit more of snow on the ground.

From work to Dave Hauver's to get lift to BOD meeting, then home afterwards.

No exercise beyond walking. Dan and I took in National Geographic's gecko exhibit - Peggy and Nadim, if you're reading, take Max - and I went to a dance performance at the Freer and another Duvivier film at the NGA while Dan worked, then we had dinner at Teaism.

Cold has bottomed out and improved but the cough and some soreness of throat is being stubborn.

Round trip to the National Gallery to see Dream Child - wow, Peter Gallager was young when he was young - and Bandera, a by the numbers tale of Jean Gabin joining the Spanish Foreign Legion, the French Foreign Legion apparently being too occupied helping filmmakers other than Jean Duvivier make martial films. Passed a small group of protesters alleging that Laurent Gbagbo won the recent Ivorian election and their police minders on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Event: US Team Official 3K time trial (the second of two trials in 2010)
 

Round trip, mostly along the C&O Canal towpath, to the Great Falls O meet.

QOC Great Falls Blue - comically bad first control navigating to the nearby 16 first, then attacking too casually the first time from there and flailing when I hit an unmapped clearing on the way. A big enough mistake there that I could have just pipped Eddie but Winsplits says he had his own smaller but significant mistake on control 2 and would have had me by about a minute if we both ran clean. Better than I would have expected based on recent head to head results - maybe he was under the weather too.

Wonderful terrain as usual but again cold and somewhat windy, though less so than two years ago and without the snow of last year. Still, maybe it won't be a bad thing that the park is talking about moving our meet next year to November.

Advanced - Splits

Cycling to and from the National Gallery, saw von Sternberg's The Last Command. Beginning of sore throat in early afternoon leads me to believe Dan finally succeeded in passing on her cold.

Work commute, no side trips.
