Its just been one of those days.... Grabbed a corp tax return with the worst books known to man but they won't pay for a bookkeeper or for us to clean them up (well, total redo/reconstruct would be necessary in this case). Would most definitely be worth it since they have taxable income and it was obvious to me they didn't record a good portion of their rent expense for the year so goodness knows what other expenses they forgot to record in one of their two sets of books (one for income, one for expenses, generally). Ugh. Quickbooks is just garbage-in/garbage-out and makes people think they don't need to know anything about accounting. Nobody told me that during tax season there is a LOT of work but its all the people/companies who have their stuff relatively together. That is fun. This isn't. The "naughty children" get finished this time of year and through october. Not my position, but I'm not sure why they are still a client- pay us too little for too much potential liability and obviously don't care that their books don't make any sense whatsoever.

And one of my married friends at work *thinks* that I have to be lonely and desperate (I'm not) just because I don't have 3 kids already and its driving me up the wall to the point where I'll start to believe it on a day like today... If 23-30-somethings acted more like my 40-50-ish often-married runner guy friends I might be more interested. But they don't, so I'm not.

Bike ride, the strap that holds my usual rear light broke off my seatpack on Wednesday, so I put on my other rear light and then quickly figured out why I don't use that one. It clunks me in the back of my thighs every single pedal stroke. Rode Flying Ranch, got a good hill up Rossmere-Wilson. I was going to do a lap around the Garden but then my headlamp went out on me so I just rode home. Turns out I plugged the light into the charger but the charger wasn't plugged into the wall.

6am flight tomorrow morning to visit the parents. Back Sunday night. Tomorrow will be better than today.

Run race 21:40 [5] 3.1 mi (6:59 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Mirage

Low key 6pm 5k running races every other Thursday 5 times... The course is the 1k crit course at memorial park 5 times. Ran 21:40 and paced it somewhat badly but not atrociously. Hopefully in 9 weeks I can keep up the pace I took it out at today. Forgot the garmin coming from work, but I think k's were 3:56, 8:19, 12:50, 17:19, 21:40 soooooo 3:56, 4:23, 4:31, 4:29, 4:21 for each kilometer. My sister just did the OPENING 5k of a quarter marathon race (yes odd distance) in 18:25, so I need to step up my game here. I'm the slowest at everything now....

Blodgett - Flying Ranch. 1st Blodgett climb of the year, up 800 ft on yucky weak legs. Couldn't stay out of my 34-25, so skipped Rossmere and just stayed on Flying Ranch.. Weird winds out there today.
