Dog Walking 20:00 [1]

Core Conditioning 1:00:00 [3]

Barre class. My quads were burning the entire class, mainly still recovering from this weekend's climbing.

Note

I didn't compete today as I needed to make sure the TT data was updated throughout the sprints so that we could start making decisions as soon as possible after the last sprint.

Orienteering race 1:28:35 [4] 5.6 km (15:49 / km) +350m 12:03 / km

2014 Team Trials at Shell Ridge Open Space, CA. Green course.

This was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. My legs were not so trashed from the Middle, so I was able to keep moving today. It was mostly trail running and easy navigation, but I did manage to make an error on #7, not keeping track of where I was on the road and over-running where I needed to turn into the "woods." And then I made a bad route choice to #10.

About 2/3 of the way through, my feet were trashed. My O-shoes were not working well in the Middle, and my trail running shoes I used today were causing blisters. Maybe I should look at OUSA's newest sponsor, Icebugs.

Overall, I was happy with how I did this weekend. Considering I haven't been doing any cardio work, mostly strength training, I thought it went well enough.

Orienteering race 1:38:59 [4]

Team Trials meet. Green course.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! That was me, laughing maniacally halfway through the course, like a mad woman. That's about when I decided I didn't care how long it was going to take me to finish this "middle" course. It was not going to defeat me!

No navigational errors to speak of. A few poor route choices now that I'm in my comfy bed and can properly evaluate them. Just too much up and down for my taste. Too many near misses of falling off the hillside.

Can't wait for the "long" tomorrow!!

Dog Walking 20:00 [1]

It was a regular aviary out there on this first day of spring. Mallard ducks, red winged blackbirds, seagulls, ravens, and of course, the geese. I even saw two geese on someone's roof! And all of them were chirping-honking-cawing away.

Note

#tbt on this eve of Team Trials. Hard to believe it's almost 30 years ago.
