Orienteering race 1:25:53 [3] 6.3 km (13:38 / km) +155m 12:08 / km

ROC Camp Pinewood Map

Clean to #2, then blew it to #3, drifting right and then getting lost just shy of the circle. Had to climb the hill and relocate off the depression. (2-3 minutes)

#4 was just a disaster, I got close, coming off the trail and hit the "map corrected green". Couldn't recall the "zone of correction" precisely enough, so I went back to the trail and tried going right around the green. This was exactly the wrong idea as I got very hacked up and lost about six minutes.

Caught Peter Dady on the way to #5 and we did 5, 6, and 7 together. We missed 7 to the south by 30 m, hit the trail and turned back in (another 30 second goof).

Mostly ran the rest of the way. Had a bobble leaving 10, but corrected on the road. Chose to go on the NE back of the stream to #12, which was safe enough, but muddy enough to cost about 30 seconds more.)

All in all, not a bad run, but I've done better.

Two loops of the Allegany River Trail. The day was too nice to waste...

Swimming 33:08 [2] 1.0 mi (33:08 / mi)

Decided to treat the swim as more of a fartlek than I had been recently. The result, surprisingly, was a much faster time (not the surprise) without much more perceived exhaustion at the end (the real surprise).
