Zach did a long run from the bottom of herriman to the GWB bridge. He ran a total of 32 plus change. I ran the first 17.5 of that distance with him. It was awesome. We kept a good pace, but there was a lot of elevation that started to wear on both of us a bit. I will have to join him for the full distance when I dont have an APFT. (maybe later in the semester).

Afterwards I added a half mile to bring today up to 18 total miles.

It was rather entertaining, there was one point in the run when the trail markers dissapeared and we did a little orienteering to get to where we needed to go.

run down to MSE field with 15lb assault pack
20 dips (2x10) with assault pack
sprint to ranger wall, recovery back
20 pullups (2x10)
run up MSE hill to grant barracks

set the course and did short warm-up before practice

Orienteering intervals (woods interval course) 55:36 [3] 5.12 mi (10:52 / mi)

did a course that started at putnam. then had points set up like spokes on a wheel. 100% effort to get to the points, then jog back as active recovery. 10 secs to memorize the next point and then off again.

did a couple of sprints to warm up for the course.

Practice Course around Bull Pond. Removed contours so it was 50m contours, really worked distance est. by pace and rough/precision compass. Good training.
