Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Up

Orienteering race 46:58 [3] *** 6.8 km (6:54 / km)
30c

I was definitely racing, and I certainly ran hard, but I spaced out a couple of times and lost a few minutes. I'm pretty happy, though. I ran fairly cleanly and ran quickly.

Orienteering tempo 13:37 [3] *** 2.9 km (4:42 / km)
9c

A fast course because Erin told us to. The idea was to run hard and fast for about 3k. Mission accomplished.

Running warm up/down 23:00 [3]

Control pick-up. Approximately 23 minutes of actual jogging. Cool-down.

Running warm up/down 5:00 [3]

Up (the hill)

Orienteering 51:45 [3] ***
9c

I think that's the right time. It was part of the blue long at team trials a while back. I ran it with Will, and the idea was just to make sure we were working backwards and picking good features along the way. It went pretty well. Also, the scale was 1:15000, and there were 8 controls, but I had to memorize how to get to the start.

Orienteering 49:15 [3] ***
12c

This was my brother's idea stolen from the French where you compass out, do a short leg, and compass back in. The short legs are all in a ring around the start on the map. Some of it went well, some of it was pretty bad, though. controls include compassing back to the start.

Running 13:00 [3]

Run back to the car, because you couldn't park on the side of the road and they wanted us to pay at the closer parking lot.

Orienteering 31:35 [3]

Line-O. Switched leader ever five minutes or so.

Running warm up/down 2:00 [3]

Joggin' to next start.

Orienteering 41:20 [3]
9c

Compass/Corridor-O. Compass leg (with window around the control), then corridor leg (with blank around the control). Didn't go anywhere near as well as I would have liked it to go, but oh well. It was at Blue Mountain, and it's kind of hard to run straight for any great period of time there.

Running warm up/down 6:00 [3]

Up

Orienteering 12:00 [3] ***
4c

Setting up one loop of controls.

Orienteering 29:00 [3] ***
9c

Running all loops of controls, including my own. Control count is just the other two, though.

Running hills 42 [3]

A few short hills with Erin critiquing our form.

Running warm up/down 4:10 [3]

Down. A little of it was before the hills, a little bit was after.

Note

We were going to do another training, but the road was closed from both sides.

Running 30:00 [3]

Easy run with Nate O. Good times.

Running 1:00 [3]

Strides. 4 x 15s.

Catching Features 22:30 [3]

First two races were pretty bad. Last race was fairly good, but still didn't place as well as I would have liked.

Running warm up/down 7:10 [3]

Up.

Running race 20:55 [3]

Catamount 5k, same as last week, although I didn't feel like I was running as fast.

Running warm up/down 30:15 [3]

Adequate cool-down.

Map Study 10:00 [0]

Checking out the 2008 WOC Long map my dad sent out.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Up. Temperature about 70.

Running intervals 14:57 [3]

Fast part of the intervals. I guess I'm not as prepared for this speed stuff as I was a while ago, because they were extremely difficult. I'm a little sick, it's a gravel track, and it was hotter than when I've done them before, but I think I'm also a little unprepared. I also generally run the first one fast, but I decided I wasn't going to do that again this time and ended up overcompensating.

12 x 400: 84, 74, 72, 74, 73, 74, 74, 75, 75 (extra one minute walking rest), 77, 77, 78.

I really tried to keep up the pace for the last two, but I was too exhausted.

Running warm up/down 11:00 [3]

Rest between intervals. I also stand around for several second at the line before starting, but towards the end this standing around was sometimes between 15-20 seconds I think, which is kind of bad...

Running warm up/down 19:03 [3]

Down. Really slow.

Catching Features 7:30 [3]

Another meh race.

Catching Features 20:00 [3]

I didn't log this on Monday because I did some math backwards. I was timing Catching Features so the time was 1:5, but it's actually 1:4. I accidentally took off time in real life, but I should have been ADDING time. I think 20 minutes is about how long I played for and then decided not to count, and I'm not even adding the additional minutes from my past playing. Be thankful juniors...
