Trail Run 1:21:00 [3] 7.31 km (11:05 / km) +162m 9:59 / km

Crazy week with multiple birthdays and a mother-in-law in town. Found a window by bowing out of niece's figure skating show to get into the valley for a longer loop.

Mtb Bike 1:14:59 [3] 13.65 km (10.9 kph) +222m

Finished trail loop then back to home for a less than speedy transition and back down for a mountain bike loop down to Brickworks and up the top. Nice to combine activities for a change.

TOC Mob Match at Long Sault Conservation Area
TimeSheet: 10.99 km, Endomondo: 8.85 km
Despite noisy car front end, journeyed East to try my first TOC event as a member (with my own SI card which I will try not to lose). A little chilly at the start and I promptly took off from the start and ran down the wrong trail. Oh well. Punching the first CP always makes you feel better. Somehow bushwhacked out of 4 and missed the trail (remember that compass you're carrying?!?) and bypassed 22. Oh well, part 2. Hit my stride spiking across the top and working down the West side of the map and coming back across the bottom. Met someone between 13 and 14 who had lost her compass. As I thought "good luck finding it" to myself, of course I spot a flash of purple in the leaves and find her compass. Coming out of 17, looked at my time and decided I would jump off the trail and try for 19, but missed it and realized I was out of time and had to hoof it back to make the cutoff, which I did with 31 seconds to spare. Pretty happy, although enjoyed listening to Bash discuss post game and recognize her better strategic choices: She did a similar loop, only in reverse, with more focus on the 50 pointers. Lots of strategy fine tuning to learn for these. Thanks to Jamie, David and TOC for a great event.
