Had been cold, breezy and wet most of the day, so psyched myself up for a HTFU session - was looking forward to being gloriously miserable.
Rain eased off, hardly any wind and was comfortable with a longsleeve tech shirt under a windbreaker - so just a nice slow sorta-run around Ahern.
Haven't been there in a while - some mtn bike trails not getting much use, while others are very obvious.
Beaver pond by the upper parking lot is full, although I didn't see any signs of recent activity.
Lots of bird activity, but I needed binoculars (and a bit more light) to see what was out there.

Started down in the lower, recently logged section, up through some very dense small pine, then it opened up. Lower part of the Carriage Rd from Kimball's Castle - picked up a swath just uphill of that over to where it curves back around. Filled in some other parts, approaching from a different direction.
