Walking 54:18 [0] 2.2 km (24:44 / km) +22m 23:34 / km
shoes: Salomon GTX Blk-Red

Checking out Clough Town Forest in Alton - some neat areas and some bland. Worth generating a lidar view.

Mapping 3:50:11 [0] 9.19 km (25:03 / km) +124m 23:29 / km

Camp Kabeyun in Alton. Walk about with Andy Baumel, quick lunch, then more structured wandering for a while.
Interesting stone walls - some nice and long and straight and others, well, less so. Would have loved to see what these looked like back in the day. A smattering of good glacial erratic boulders - left behind at random.

Hiking 1:21:53 [3] 4.79 km (17:05 / km) +157m 14:41 / km
shoes: Salomon GTX Blk-Red

Pine Mtn in Alton.
Pretty nice trails - some sections could stand to be trimmed back a bit.
Nice view to the south side of the Belknaps, over to the Ossippee range and the southern Whites.

Hiking 26:47 [1] 1.25 km (21:20 / km)
shoes: Salomon GTX Blk-Red

From the trailhead at Gilford Meadows think I found where it links up to the rest of the trail to Lockes Hill. Some really overgrown sections - head high goldenrod, dense marsh grass, etc.

Locke's Hill - checking out the faint trail that links over the the Gilford school fields by Beans & Greens - lost the track when it was close to the fields - some wildly overgrown nasty that I wasn't interested in pushing through, so turn around and head back up.

Walked the bike up the steeper parts - which was most of it - had seen others riding up the access road and thought "Gee that looks like fun" - It was fun (mostly) coming down.
Don't have the legs right now to power up the whole hill.
Downhill was great where it was mowed - but unmowed was another thing. No idea what was at ground level - some rocks to run into, some hols to catch my front tire, etc. Glad for disc brakes versus rims.

Mapping 29:14 intensity: (22:13 @0) + (6:11 @1) + (50 @3) 1.28 km (22:51 / km) +57m 18:40 / km
ahr:96 max:127 shoes: Inov-8G 260 Mudclaw

Quick wander, paper map n had, around the base of Gunstock. A few adjustments.

Weeks Woods
Tried a run in "minimalist" shoes - very wide toe box, rubber sole, thin insole.
Felt OK - changes my foot plant. Only felt an uncomfortable poke through the sole once or twice.
Better on soft ground - hard packed trail was feeling, well, harder. Probably not the shoes for a long run.
