ahr:143 max:169 shoes: New Bal 572 Trail

5 x hill repeats at RV Farm, plus warmup and gentle run following.

:55 -1:03 up, 2:30 - 3:00 jog back down between.

A few folks out on the trails today - very pleasant. Finally feeling fall-like, rather than the tropical summer feel of last week.

Mapping 15:00 [1]

Hour and a half mapping at RV Farms - decided to dive back into it, even without a good base map.

ahr:151 max:162 shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212s

Trail run from Gunstock Parking lot. Up Cobble curves, out to the meadow, then out trail 20 towards Round Pond. Did the loop of the E Gilford Trail, Red marked Fire Road, then back up the E Gilford Tr to the Trail 20 junction. Headed up the trail 7 loop, then looked for any scent of a mtn bike trail up onto the ridge - thinking that will be good area to add narrow Ski-O trails, but only found the indistinct hiking trail I'd marked in the spring - no sign of any recent use.

Inaugural session with the X-Talons 212s - pretty nice. Very light, fit well - no heel rub, maybe a 1/4 size too large, but the recently retired Mudclaws were size 10 and they were on the verge of being tight in the toes. Thin soles - could feel some of the pointier rocks on the trail, similar to the New Balance 572 Trail shoes.
