Walking 25:00 [1] 2.5 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Assail Trail

Short brisk walk around the neighborhood so I don't feel too bad about not doing more today. Could feel some twinges from the past 2 days efforts.

Cold and drizzly, had been putting this off for much of the day.
Was trying to keep my HR below 145-150, but can't seem to run smoothly with less effort. Probably need to get my fitness level up a bit to be able to do a good long run at an easy pace that feels comfortable.
Decided to do 4 tempo sections - ended up doing 4x1 minute surges, getting my HR up to about 170 on each.
Was a bit over dressed, tights were keeping my legs warm, and a polypro long sleeve shirt under a nylon windbreaker, which was a bit much. Shoudl have gone with either a shortsleeve shirt under it, or something that breathed a bit better.

Snowshoe long 3:15:00 [2] ** 11.0 km (17:44 / km) +450m 14:43 / km

Snowshoe trek up into the Belknap range with Tim and Jon. We were planning on parking up off Grant Road and taking the Round Pond Trail right up the hill, but it is now posted no trespassing, no trail access, etc. Back over to Bickford Road and went in a slightly longer way.
Initial goal was to hit Klem, Rand, and Mack, but scaled that back to just Klem and Mack.
Started in the mid-40s, and felt like that went up, except when we were in the shade. A few bare spots on southern exposures, where there was a lot of mud - but snowshoes do well at keeping you from sinking into that also.
Still 3-4 feet of snow in many areas, particularly north facing slopes, and in the shade.
