Orienteering race (NGOC Galoppen) 36:40 [1] 3.19 km (11:30 / km) +100m 9:56 / km
(injured) shoes: inov8 Roclite295 (1)

Walked around the short green. Was a pathetically short course (2.7km) done in a pathetically long time. Had a feeling that the green course would have taken me places I didn't want to go to...

Still managed to make a mess of controls 1, 2 and 6 (about 1min on each). Would have been close to a huge time loss on 5 as well but I was lucky to get in bang on having started by heading in the wrong direction and had no attackpoint...

As with yesterday, felt most comfortable going up the hills than on the flat/down. Stuck to tracks and extraction lines where I could as wasn't able to get my feet clear of brambles/brashings. Found 2-3 particularly hardgoing so glad was walking. May have upset Anne Donnell as my injured walking speed is still faster than most of the oldies' running paces.

Orienteering (BOK Blaise Castle) 59:12 [1] 4.24 km (13:58 / km) +115m 12:18 / km
(injured) shoes: inov8 Roclite295 (1)

Walked around most of the green course. Messed up 1 and realised pretty quickly that knee was not liking going downhill at all.

Skipped 2, 10, 11, 12 and 13. Should have missed out 6 as well. Comfortably beat Mark Burley going up Kings Weston Hill.

New map ok. Did pick routes that tried to explore whilst minimising height loss.

Another walk around a course.

S-65-78-82-73-72-74-75-77-86-85-81-70-64-63-61-66-68-F

Ignored the 50 pointer as too far to be worthwhile walking (different matter if running...). Thought I did a fairly good job at getting the controls in a sensible order.

After 73 spent some time wondering about going for 79 before deciding not too. Lost a bit of time finding 85 as was hoping to avoid the worst of the brambles. Went in for 76 but couldn't pick my feet up enough to get over the brambles so aborted.

Pace had to be picked up for the last control and to the finish as was running late.

Knee not so happy about descending down the path between 81 and 70 but was otherwise ok.

6th of 19 and beat a fair number of people who claimed to have ran around the course.

Running - off road (BOK Training Run) 59:19 [3] 9.17 km (6:28 / km) +140m 6:01 / km
(injured) shoes: Addidas Swoops

BOK Training Run around Ashton Court. Took it as easy as I could and was glad to be off road. Started to suffer on the gravel tracks around by the quarry and had to walk the bits of the zig-zag track where there was much of a camber.

Definitely injured. This coming weekend will be walking only in the hope it'll sort itself out for the S&M weekend.
