NOY 2 at Blue Gum Hills. Worst result for some time. Knew as I made my way to 1 that knee as not going to have a happy day. Moved ok until about 7 then progressively slowed down as knee got progressively worse. Navigation OK except for long leg 7-8, poor route choice and the poorly executed. Never lost but missed all points I planned to pass.
Heading to Darwin for 4 days for work, no bike and no running will hopefully help knee recover from whatever it is, 34 degrees hopefully hotel pool is long enough for swimming.
S-1 straight
1-2 marked fence crossing, contour above creek, crossed tracks, down watercourse/white, along road to clearing, down to control
2-3 north on E of creek, crossed at tapes, north to control on W creek.
3-4 out to track junction, straight across creek, hit next track junction, up track to ditch, straight to control.
4-5 contour around to creek.
5-6 down creek to track, tracks to marked creek crossing, straight to control using bits of track on straight line.
6-7 compass straight.
7-8 left 7 following straight line along contour, when got to track thought should have gone up and around fence, decided to keep going and proceeded to hit several of the lantana patches I planned to avoid and need to bash through or go around, initially didn't climb high enough looking for control at first line of rocks, walking by now.
8-9 down between branches of creek, across at junction and up minor water course.
9-10 contour out to track, track through creeks, straightish from end of track.
10-11 down creek to track, across track and creek, straight to control. Tripped over leaving 11, tangled in something, ended up being a control tether that had been accidentally dropped, perfectly looped to catch both feet.
11-12 straight, struggle climbing creek bank.
12-13 straight
13-F out to track and along track.
