JK, M40, long. 14th of 34. Really interesting terrain again - lots of variety, not too steep, though the map didn't seem quite as solid as yesterday, I still managed to get around ok. I'm hoping the exhaustion wasn't pure fitness - Angelica came down with a cold yesterday and it feels like I'm fighting something.

Mistakes (fairly strict - vs. ~10th, which is my 75%ile split I should aim for...)

Total ~7 minutes - not terrible given 25 controls in unusual-to-me terrain - and yet much to learn from!

1) :90 - pulled up short/low - should've paid attention to 1:15k scale, and vegetation corner
4) :30 - unneccessary drop & climb - should've followed small trail, and bearing in from white woods
7) :60 - slash filled diagonal through woods, and dropped too low - should've heeded my observation of slash in forest and stuck to trails
8) :45 - ended up low/confused - should've noted the net +3 contour goal for the traverse, and/or rapidly dropped to trail and climbed (recalling slash forest from being near 2 before)
9) :30 - hesitant before control - should've heeded contour change better, as well as the trail bend to bear in from.
14) :10 - strange veg. before control - bad mapping? - should've pressed on, on bearing, given catching trail and control on far side of bushes
15) :20 - overshot left on vague plan to pass fence and look for clearing (vs. condes of earthbank)- should've looked at bearing from fence end(s)
16) :30 - spacey/vague/slow - should've tken more confident bearing to road, looked for non-green entry, and pace counted to my attack point dirt wall (given commonality of smaller such features)
21) :60 - tiring? bad attack through green? - should've been a bit more confident on the hill near the end, and stayed on trail more on attack for confidence
23) :10 - tiring - fast exit and road around, just slow
24) :25 - tiring + confused by veg mapping - should used the obvious wall behind the control for confidence, including looping in from the top
25) :10 - trail seemed in wrong place - should've rough bearing confidently raced toward the clearing, then along to the fence corner

46 minutes of Middle distance M21E WRE racing, plus warmup, including with map.
2 minute mistake (on a mismapped area I ran past the map explaining when latish to the 5 minute call up line start - kids/wife like to sleep in...), plus minors -> ~3 minutes - yet way behind - fitness, and accustomization to running in these bumps.
