10x200m/200m + warmup/cooldown.

On a frozen dirt track, that was really bumpy due to some Canadian geese. Yep, when it was muddy, they stepped all over the track, bumping it all up. It got me thinking that perhaps the Canadians train on goose-bumpy tracks all the time. So I figure this was good training towards the goal of beating them in 2010.

About 1/3 of the way around Lake Clear, and back.

So my goals for 2009 are still in progress, but this is what I have so far:
* Run every day (this worked well in '07)
* Run 6000m climb in each month of Jan.-Apr. (for Team Trials/Hungary prep.)

XC Ski 1:16:00 intensity: (16:00 @2) + (30:00 @3) + (30:00 @4) 10.0 km (7:36 / km) +150m 7:04 / km

XC Ski at the Olympic center near Lake Placid. Was thinking that a 20km loop would be possible, but the snow was much softer than two days ago, making for slow skating, and I started pretty late - at 2pm, after a 9am breakfast, and some OJ for 'lunch' so I tired rapidly.

Was pretty cold (~5 degrees, but with only a little wind).

Was my last chance for a no-running day workout (only my 3rd since 9/1) before I try for a run-every-day year again in 2009.

XC Ski 1:00:54 [2] 8.85 km (6:53 / km) +220m 6:07 / km
ahr:113 max:153

Olympic XC Ski center on "the worst day they've ever been open" - trails had ~1-2 inches of re-frozen snow left after 3 days with highs above 40. The 'stadium' field near the lodge would've been perfectly fine for ice skates. But the trails were a little better, and they were trying to groom them, so about 80% of the ~5km of trails they had open were not only really fast, but also safe enough to go fast on. I did fall once and took some hand damage as it was basically like falling on concrete, but aside from that it was a fun, fast day.
