Running 34:00 [2] 6.0 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: R-NB 891's

Arrived at Disney Orlando today, with my family and another family ? 8 on the same plane/hotel-room-pair for the trip. As it was too late for Disney?s main attractions, the kids went swimming here (outdoors, 75 degrees ? nice change from 30?s), and mom & dad snuck away for a loop through the 3 Disney ?All-Star? resorts.

Running 17:30 [2] 3.18 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: O-VJ Integrator Cleats

Short loop through the park, in my 3rd backup pair of shoes (favorite 2 pairs are still wet.)

I still haven't missed a day of running since Sept. 1. Keeping that up is motivating, or I'm sure I'd have skipped a lot of training days recently as I have very poor goal focus. I was thinking 5k of climb per month Jan-Mar would be a good goal, although I should check what I've been doing lately.

Was a nice weather day for a change, so decided on a long loop to the Betzwood-Pawlings River trail. Crossing the river on 422 northbound, I noticed the pilings for the old bridge were underwater. Oh cool, I thought, I?ll get to see how high the Schuylkill is after the last 2 days of rain. I was also planning 3x1km intervals along the trail and I started my first in the parking lot. A couple of big puddles by the end but nothing I couldn?t splash through. As I finished the intervals, I realized some of the puddles were connect to the river. A bit later, I noticed a very large puddle ? the trail slowly dipped down, and reappeared about 100m later ? on the other side of a bridge over what I recalled to be a very deep ravine. Fortunately I?ve run the trail enough that I could recall where the trail was enough to get to the bridge (only the railings were visible) without incident, but coming out the other side, I realized my calves were pretty frozen, and didn?t warm up well. I hit a few more puddles later ? none too bad ? until I reached the curve to the north, at which point the puddles got more and more frequent until there was no more dry land at all from the railroad wall across the Schuylkill, to the holding pond (dirt) wall on my right. As forward progress was only getting worse, I decided to bail for higher ground (the holding pond wall has a trail on top), so I headed to that ? only problem is there is a drainage between the trail, and that wall, so I had to go up to mid-Quad before I could get out. My legs were pretty darn cold and took almost 30 minutes to warm up properly, by which time I was almost home. Pretty cool run, but a bit too wet and cold for effective intervals.

Running in a new area south of the quarries where 252S and 202 diverge - mostly a sprawling PECO facility with many office buildings and some equipment.
