Orienteering race (Forest) 1:51:30 [4] *** 12.0 km (9:18 / km) +300m 8:16 / km
shoes: O' Black/Orange VJ Twisters

On this 3rd day of racing, I didn't have any zip. When starting on the sprint and short yesterday, I didn't have much zip either, but I'd decided that I should push really hard, because the courses weren't that long. Today, I went out at a slower version of race pace, apparently both physically and mentally, as a bobbled a bunch of stuff. I also got screwed by the one misplaced control of the weekend because I took the tougher direct route. This didn't help motivation. But on the next bag I saw Mihai going out and Eddie coming in, and it wasn't that far to the finish, so I pushed a little harder, passing Mihai, and staying ahead of Eddie.

Orienteering race (Forest) 18:00 [4] *** 2.5 km (7:12 / km) +80m 6:12 / km
spiked:10/12c shoes: O-Black/Green VJ Spikes

NavStock Sprint. Didn't warm up much as I was still beat from the night before, and it was hot. Not big mistakes on a blown up 1:15000 map. 3rd behind Mike W. & Nik D., ahead of many others

Orienteering race (Forest, trails) 36:00 [4] **** 5.1 km (7:04 / km) +150m 6:09 / km
shoes: O-Black/Green VJ Spikes

Another good run with some tricky contour stuff in the middle. I was chasing Katarina (she started 2 minutes ahead of me), and that kept me pushing hard physically. Had a few bobbles in the middle, but I was not letting myself rest on the roads or in the forest as I kept thinking Kat could be 2+ minutes ahead at the finish. Ended up 1:30 ahead of Kat, and :30 ahead of Mike Waddington. I think the latter is a first (and beating Kat earlier this morning was also a first...) 3rd behind Nik D. & Mark Adams, but within a minute of both.

Event: Nav-Stock

Orienteering race (Night O') 2:45:00 [4] 18.0 km (9:10 / km) +300m 8:28 / km
shoes: O' Black/Orange VJ Twisters

Too hot to warm up (~85->75, near 100% humidity, dusk->dark.) Good run in the Night Raid. A few errors despite redundant navigation. Clem was the power runner of the night, esp. on the 2nd half (or perhaps I just slowed a lot... :) Really tired at the end, as expected. No Migraine afterward, which I thought might happen, although I did take 2 pre-emptive Excedrin at the finish.
