Running (Warmup) 3:00 [3] 0.25 mi (12:01 / mi)
(injured)

Foot got a little sore/stiff this morning walking around in running shoes. Didn't get any better during more walking around and even the warmup in new O' shoes.

Orienteering 49:56 [4] 5.6 km (8:55 / km) +90m 8:15 / km
(injured)

US Long O' Champs Brown.

R-foot (normal spot) mildly sore on and off for first 30 minutes of race. Finally felt better after that, only to get sore again minutes after finishing. Stretching it out seemed to help a little.

Not quite so promising as the last few weekends.

Also, got a quarter-sized L-big-toe blister due to new shoes, and probably due to running limp where I'm pushing off my L-toes but not my R-toes.

Running (Warmup) 4:00 [3] 0.33 mi (12:07 / mi)
(injured)

R-foot lighlty sore during warmup, in old O'shoes, with tape (not active ankle.)

Orienteering 14:10 [4] 1.71 km (8:17 / km) +40m 7:25 / km
(injured)

Prelim. of Short O' champs. Lost 2+ minutes on 1 leg, but was just way-slow out of shape generally. Plus foot never really warmed up and was sore on and off during race. (Old O' shoes, tape.)

Running (Warmup) 8:00 [3] 0.73 mi (10:57 / mi)
(injured)

Foot seemed to warm up okay this time and wasn't sore after warmup. Perhaps because I was back in the old-O'-shoe + Active-Ankle combo.

Orienteering 37:48 [3] 4.36 mi (8:40 / mi) +60m 8:19 / mi

Felt like I ran really hard, while still not pushing too hard on foot, and foot was fine, during and after with only very light occasional pain in evening. Was it the old-O'-shoe + Active-Ankle combo, or something else?

Results wise, I had one 3+ minute error and some other junk, but still was way off the 28 minute pace that last fall's expectations would put me at. Out of shape, mostly.

Running (Forest) 31:00 [2]

O' Shoes, with ~2/3 forest, 1/3 trails. Foot got lightly sore once or twice at ~5-10 minutes so I slowed up a bit. Near end foot was doing pretty good so I tried a few 1-minute sections of moving faster, still trying not to push off toes much. Probably got to ~8min/mile w/o pain.

Since I reinjured myself doing a hard pace (not-race-pace) mile in January, I'm a little hesitant to move fast. But I wanted to do a test to see how hard I may want to push myself at the Short O' this weekend. I still probably won't push off toes (which will cost 10%+) and I'm out of shape, which will probably cost another 10%, so my goal is just being within 50% of the winner (e.g. Waddington.)

Maybe I'll be faster, but it's not worth pushing hard off the just-recovered foot at this point.

Other Aerobic (Water Aerobics & Running) 20:00 [2]
(injured)

-In Pool: R-foot very lightly sore on some hard water running - eased off and disappeared immediately.
-Out of Pool: R-Foot totally fine. L-foot mildly sore on and off in same spot. Probably from weekend overuse/limping. But considering I ran for most of yesterday's course and my feet are as good, if not better, than last week: Yayayayayay!
