Note
(rest day)

Urgh, seem to have had a bad reaction to getting all scratched up by the gorse yesterday as up most of the night with cold sweats and the last time this happened was when I got badly nettled....

Right as people seem to have had an aversion to running for a team called SLOW I have switched into the Attackpoint Allstars team which someone created - 1 week to go! sign up now

10 AM

Running warm up/down 4:22 [3] 0.52 mi (8:24 / mi) +2m 8:18 / mi
shoes: Inov 8s - Oroc 280s

Easy cruise to the finish to mug someone for a map as they'd run out, felt quite good.

Orienteering race (Medium) 48:01 [4] *** 5.25 mi (9:09 / mi) +125m 8:31 / mi
shoes: Inov 8s - Oroc 280s

Quite a good race a bit itchy and scratchy from the off and was details route choice around the patches of dark green. Made mistakes at 7+8 and then later at 14, probably made 4 min of mistakes?

Results - 9/52 Happy with that, especially as was struggling physically and made some reasonable mistakes.

Nearly got taken by Charles BG though...

Running 31:29 [3] 4.5 mi (7:00 / mi) +38m 6:49 / mi
shoes: Sauconys Guide 4s

Got all motivated watching superstars and Llewellyn's BG video so went out for a trot.

Enjoyed

1 7:25.1 1.00 7:25
2 7:18.8 1.00 7:19
3 6:34.7 1.00 6:35
4 6:39.9 1.00 6:40
5 3:16.5 0.50 6:43

Not a bad set of splits last 2 miles were more where I want them to be rather than the 1st 2, but considering that last year I was running faster than this over a half marathon distance, some work to do yet.....

Running 35:59 [3] 7.03 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: Sauconys Guide 4s

Alarm went off at 6 and for a change bounced out of bed and took my self off out for a trot.... sign of things to come?

Didn't have a destination in mind so ended up running to Balham up one side of Wandsworth common and then after a slight 'detour' towards where I actually wanted to go - Clapham Common, back down the otherside of wandsworth common and home - Really good area to run in once

a. it gets lighter so I can run off the roads and
b. I actually know where I'm going rather than just cruising round hoping for the best.

Pleased to get up early and get my 4th run in a row for a long time in the bag!

Running 52:14 [3] 7.6 km (6:52 / km)
shoes: Inov 8s - Oroc 280s

Nice wet run with Dad as a loop out from the 'rents house.

Really nice little area of the chase their house backs onto

Enjoyed - feet cold though

Running 1:05:46 [3] 11.0 km (5:59 / km) +115m 5:41 / km
shoes: Sauconys Guide 4s

Not a good choice of shoe this morning slipping and sliding all over the shop, good little route, very off-road at times and weather was lush.

Medium effort but felt it on the hills, went off at the end and did a rep of ballbag hill by myself - 3.49 from the base to where to levels off, Trig point race is going to be painful!!

Nice run though

Note

CCC ballot entered - woop

Running (Family Christmas Run) 51:04 [3] 7.64 km (6:41 / km) +160m 6:03 / km
shoes: Inov 8s - Oroc 280s

Quite nice weather for th erun this year, but a lower turnout from Chasers this year and with Rhesus in NZ and little Rob suffering with a cold the pace was kept fairly tame for a change.

Quite nice to be out and hopefully this will be the platform to get keen again

Note

Uh so when in these advanced marathoning schedules do I get to race?
