"Recovery" ride with Gooder where I basically sucked wheel and wind trying to keep up. Legs were tough to get going after SS yesterday but it was a beautiful day and a great ride followed up with a few beers while the kids played. NP 259W.

Sulphur Springs 20K relay 2017 edition.

After the Mississauga marathon last month I took a bit of time off running and generally ran a bit less focusing more on cycling to get ready for a few bike races upcoming. However, this is always a great race and I'm happy to be part of the team, so with a few weeks left and a few good runs I built it up to a level I was happy with. I hadn't done any intensity running but had a few good bike sessions to get me comfortable with being uncomfortable.

With the mud and additional distance most times were a few mins slower than before. It was very pleasant - not overly hot. I took the timing chip from Mark and set out at a reasonable pace/effort which I think I held for most of the race. The mud wasn't too bad, I think it helped soften the ground which for downhills made it a bit nicer and not as pounding as the dry dirt usually there. I'd hoped for a few mins faster to match my hopeful predicted 1:30 but was a few mins shy. Regardless, happy with the race and always good to see everyone there. Looking forward to another relay next year. Thanks Trav for organizing another 3 great teams!

Great ride up at Albion joined by Bash for the first hour. Highlight was definitely the mid-ride massive and delicious buttertart - thank you Bash! I love riding this place, I just wish it was closer.

Due to the rain I forewent the trails for the road. Suunto died halfway through. Felt good, HR was nice and low.
