Orienteer 1:30:00 [3]
I have been feeling ill, but very often even if I don't feel well I get a nice adrenaline, fun rush when orienteering so I decided to do the red.
But i got weak and icky feeling right off the bat, walking up the small hill.
Then my mind decided that maybe I could take a short cut across the swamp to 2, only 200 or 250 meters, and swamps this time of year can be dryer than they appear on the map, and the map had no black around the edge.
I slogged out about 100 meters or even more before getting to a depth I couldn't handle. Exhausting way to start a race, and it put me back a LOT, but I knew there was still a lot of fun orienteering to be had.
I never did get either my mind or body into anything over 50% mode, despite plenty more pep talks, so I gave up at six and walked slowly back to the start, went home and slept, watched Netflix the rest of the day and a good bit of Sunday.
I was hoping to at least have a fun GPS route through the swamp, but didn't even get my Garmin started correctly!
