Run (Stevens Creek Path) 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Asics2

In Mountain View, CA on another work trip. Only have one meeting today, but I'm traveling with others. Not sure what else they have planned for the day. So I figured I'd better get a couple of miles in just in early.

Run (Russian Ridge, CA) 1:10:00 [3] 6.0 mi (11:40 / mi)
shoes: Asics2

Short meeting went well, so I took a drive out to the "South Skyline Region" Open space preserves and ran at Russian Ridge. It had amazing canyon oaks in one section, prairie type hillsides in others, lots of ravines, springs. I saw what I thought was a large fox up ahead on my trail... turned out to be a coyote. Not sure if they're ever dangerous but I had my RoadID on so I was invincible and not too worried. I read later (in the brochure, which has a handy map for next time) that there's also mountain lions in the ravines. THAT might be actually a little scary to run into. I'm sure people aren't attacked often 'cause I never hear about it.
I also ran up to a peak with a sign that said "Borel Hill" and brochure states that it's the "highest named peak in San Mateo County". I guess that means there's higher, unnamed peaks. I think I'll go find one and name it. Plant a flag. Linear Ice Peak.
