CNOC Summer Series - Curragh - 2nd (39:32, +1sec)

Fun race on fast ground and turned over the legs nicely before the weekend. Always a nice area to run on and still relatively newish to me.

Some time losses out there at #1 missing the tiny track in the gorse and at #2 I was looking for a depression. Bit of hesitation to #11 but I was on the line and then to #13 and #14 I had some difficulty finding and understanding the tracks......some drifting in the last section too around #19,20,21 in the nettles....I was a bit wimpy and went around them.

Cool that at control #7 myself, Colm and Kev all had the same time.

Annoying to be 1sec down on ColmM after I’ve 9km of racing but good feedback all the same.

Only able for 17th overall in the league this year, the best average points from anyone on the table but not enough races clocked up (3 to score). Both scores this year are >70 points higher than my best last year though.

Cool down with Ruairi “one lap is plenty” Long. Rest day tomorrow to travel to Finland, it’s only been 814.9km (506.4 miles) and 44 days since I last had a day off from training. Good block.

Waterstown parkrun - 17:04

Had hoped to be a bit faster but felt tired and flat and lacking some zip, the wind on the course really didn’t help with that. Legs will get a day off on Wednesday anyway and an easy end to the week since I’ll be running 2 legs in Jukola. Few people made 50 parkruns today which meant cupcakes! I’ve just 10 to go now to make the milestone.

Had some free time this afternoon so did some nerd stuff:

Anyone doing exams today, don't worry too much, I got the points I wanted, I got the course I wanted and my life is still a mess :D But i can say that not a day goes by when I don't have to quote a theorem or recite some Shakespeare :D
